As most of you already know, a mashup is a song or composition created by blending two or more pre-recorded songs. This is typically accomplished by overlaying the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the instrumental track of another.
I have always felt that the best music takes in the sum of its influences and then adds something new to the equation. To my ears, a good mashup personifies this concept by taking music that already exists and turning it into something new.
