John Herbert Gleason aka Jackie Gleason aka "The Great One" (February 26, 1916 – June 24, 1987) was a Brooklyn born American actor, comedian, writer, composer, and conductor known affectionately as "The Great One."
Gleason is most famous for his creation of The Honeymooners television show which first aired on CBS as a standalone program in 1955. On the show, Gleason plays the part of Ralph Kramden, a NYC bus driver with an abundance of poorly conceived ideas on how to win at life. The show's 39 original episodes - recorded on film in front of a live audience - have continued to live on in reruns since 1985.
